When thinking about vacation nowadays, many people immediately imagine laying on a beach in the Caribbean or gallivanting around Europe, but there was a time when a family vacation meant piling into the station wagon and road-tripping around the country. There are still plenty of U.s destination that make a family road trip worthwhile. Whether you plan on renting an RV or just loading up the family car, here’s a list of places you should consider visiting.

Washington, D.C.

Every family should make the trek to Washington, D.C.  Filled with history, museums and national landmarks, it’s easy to bring history lessons to life just by walking around. Make your way out to Mount Vernon to see our nation’s first president’s home and get inquisitive minds captivated by The International spy Museum.
